Mental Health Check 🖤

I'm checking on you because of everything that has been happening in the world lately.

From COVID to now the death of George Floyd (prayers to George and his family) times are trying.

As a black woman in America with a black husband and a black son - I am honestly terrified.

As a black woman in America living in a predominately white city and neighborhood during this time, once again, I am honestly terrified.

I've been in a weird space lately because all of it is extremely overwhelming.

Social media is full of hate and negativity and sometimes it feels impossible to unplug.

I found myself overwhelmed yesterday between checking the news outlets and my media timeline - I needed a mental health day.... so I took one

I decided to take a break from it all and unwind.

So, I want to know - how are you dealing with all of this & have you catered to your mental health?

If you need some help, here are a few tips:

🖤Take a warm bath

🖤Log off social media for the day

🖤Read a book

🖤Listen to music


🖤Watch your favorite tv show

🖤Go for a walk

& most importantly, be kind to yourself right now.

There is a lot going on.

It's okay to feel stressed.

It's okay to feel overwhelmed.

It's okay to not be okay.

I am here with you.

I support you.

I care.
